Alexis De Veaux (sometimes as Alexis DeVeaux) (born September 24, ) is an American writer and illustrator.^[1][2] She chaired the Department of Women's Studies, at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

She was born on September 24, , in Harlem, New York City. In , De Veaux received her BA from Empire State College, State University of New York (SUNY). De Veaux received her MA and PhD from the University of Buffalo.^[1] She wrote for Essence magazine, from to ^[3][4][5]
